Things are just …….

Crazy. Robbie was offered the job in Idaho today!!! He’s got a few days to make a decision.

Between that and the property – I’m supposed to meet Randy at the property Thursday to see if there is a good spot to build.

I’m so tired I don’t know what to do – between my leg cramps and the laughter from the next room last night, I didn’t get nearly enough sleep. Heading to bed in just a few minutes…..

New Hope

That’s what I have right now – New Hope. I think I’m buying 15 acres. I’m excited and worried at the same time. This will definitely give me something to do with my “free” time. The dream is changing to reality. I have New Hope great things will start this spring. I can see myself living there for the rest of my life. And my mutts both love it – especially the water dog. Took them this evening just to see, and of course Pepper was in heaven. Majik was very pleased with her run, too. Going to be busy for a while building fence. By the time I get done, I should know what I am doing. Planning on building a house… and a barn/kennel… and a studio/office… and a commercial kitchen…

Do I have that much money?? No– do I have that much credit…? Maybe. Just gotta see how far it can go.

Finally, somewhere I will be ‘home.’

What happened to spring???

Gee wiz! Got up this morning and February is home from vacation. MAN!! 24 degrees this morning. Frozen water for dogs and the whole 9 yards. I had all but turned the house heat off. I was enjoying the spring temps and now… deep freeze!

As I suspected, these average February temps are hurting pretty bad after the April temps we’ve been having the past couple weeks. Now I need to decide if I’m brave enough to continue walking in the cold or if I need to figure a different solution. If I quit completely now, I’m afraid that will be the end of it. I’m up to walking a total of about 5 miles a day, and I don’t want to start all over in a few weeks.

I can tell such a big difference in my ability to move and my attitude. This morning I was planning to sleep in, but the mutts both decided that was a bad idea. Got me up at six. I let them out and came back in to be surprised I am not tired and don’t want to go back to bed. So I started my day early which pleases me. Attitude again. Yesterday when I took the dogs for a ride, I was able to pull myself up on the back bumper MUCH easier than before. Just one week and a HUGE difference.

So… thinking I get a better workout on the road because of the hills, but a few good laps through Walmart or Lowes beats sitting still all day long.

Either way, sitting here typing is only giving my fingers a workout. Will report later –

Riding before long?

Well I have been exercising and dieting (hate that word!) for a full week now, and things are going pretty good. I’m averaging walking 4 miles a day, and my clothes are fitting looser. The exercise is getting better. How does exercise get better? I am able to walk further faster and the short jogging stints are getting longer. I was even able to use the truck to pull myself up like getting on a horse. I really can tell a huge difference in just the week I’ve been walking.

Took the pups out this afternoon – went to a couple different boat landings on the river, and they came home exhausted. I’m pretty tuckered out myself. Almost no sleep last night because Robbie has the flu. Didn’t know what it was then, I just worried he would be in trouble at work.

I was hoping I could start riding my bike some over the next couple weeks, but dang!! February just returned with a vengeance. It is supposed to get down to 29 tonight, 32 tomorrow night, and rain almost every day. And I’ve been acting like it is already summer.

Wayne and Sandra came today – Wayne was checking out my tractor to give me a quote on fixing it right. They stayed a couple hours, and it was cool in the breeze even then. He didn’t seem to think it is a lost cause… maybe I can afford to get it fixed “functional.” I wasn’t sure they would make it especially since I told them Robbie is sick. But they came anyway. Hopefully the tractor can be ‘right’ this summer.

Walking works

Well, this morning my sugar is back down to 89. Where I want it to be. I thought you said it was 89 a few days ago? Well, then I had a rainy day with very little walking PLUS I splurged – just a little. I had a tub of yogurt. YUM – lotsa carbs. Didn’t eat 3 meals, so I thought I could swing it.

Not.

Today I walked over 4.5 miles – and stuck to the plan (mostly). I did eat an apple this morning. They are so-o-o-oo good – Envy apples are crisp and sweet and juicy, and I just can’t bear the thought of them being tossed out because I won’t eat carbs. In the morning we will see if I bounced the sugar back up – I’m hoping the timing (before lunch) plus the extra walking made a difference.

Tomorrow is supposed to be a drizzly day, but I’m still hoping to get a LOT of outside stuff taken care of. My roses are greening up – if it turns to winter, they will not be pleased I’m sure. Also have tulips coming up all over the place. Not sure the Rose of Sharon plants all survived, but some of them look as if they are trying to bud. Almost afraid to look at the oak trees I planted last fall. I think I kept them watered enough, but we will see in a few weeks.
